Have we watered down (reduced the word) hope?
Unfortunately It seems like we have, we reduced the word hope down to a "maybe so" word. When we say " I hope so," do we really mean, "It probably wont happen, but maybe it might." I know I am guilty of this one. I saw the word hope as a "maybe" and not as something certain, firm. This way of seeing hope is not a biblical prospective. The word hope in the bible is defined as "a confident expectation." Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hope is what God puts in our hearts and faith gives substance to it or brings it to reality. I think today many of us not All but many, including myself, we stocked our mind with human logic, fickle emotions and conclusions, false reasoning from past experiences. We are basing things in human nature. Why are we as Christians living an ordinary life when we can be living an extraordinary life?! Romans 12:2 Do not be conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Ephesians 4:23-24 To be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. we need to constantly renew our minds and be in the word in order to change and not think the way this world thinks, but what God says in his word and what He can do through us. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 For though (we are human) we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Yes we are human, but we shouldn't wage war with human plans, methods, and past experiences... for we have a powerful God who through his holy spirit gives us power and strength to do the impossible! Luke 17:6 He replied, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it will obey you." <---- Jesus said this!! Lets hold fast to the word of God Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. The word of God will always remain, and God never lies! Lets have hope/faith that through the holy spirit we can move mountains!
Romans 15:13 -May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy spirit.
If you have read the book Extraordinary by John Bevere you may know/see that most of this is from his book. This book is great and I really recommend it to every Christian. He really opens your eyes to how God want us to live and what to do to please Him and live an extraordinary life. Every other sentence of this book has a verse so everything is backed up by Gods word. I have honestly learned a lot form this book and I love that he had all these verses after every sentence or so, that way I can open up my bible and look it up and read it making sure it was right (which it all was) and at the same time learning more of Gods word. I highly recommend it, go get it!
